What are the flammability ratings of the Ampure Go?

The Ampure Go has highest protection against flammability. Insulating parts are rated according to UL 94 V-0 and decorative parts according to UL 94 HB.

What is the component safety of the Ampure Go?

All components of the Ampure Go are rated for a temperature range of at least -40°C to +85°C.

What electrical protection does the Ampure Go provide?

The Ampure Go provides Missing Earth Protection, Surge Protection, and Overcurrent / Overvoltage Protection for maximum safety. In addition, the Ampure Go provides a Class B RCD system (20mA AC and 5mA DC), which reflects its automotive-grade quality and makes it outstanding amongst all of our competitors.

What is the product design life of the Ampure Go?

What is the system compliance of the Ampure Go?

The Ampure Go is strictly compliant to UL2594, UL2231, and UL817. All components of the Ampure Go follow the REACH and RoHS recyclability standard. Beside UL, the Ampure Go is certified according to cUL, ICES, and FCC Part 15 Class A and B.

Does the TurboConnect integrate with (home) energy management systems?

Yes. The TurboConnect provides several interfaces for energy management systems integration, including Ethernet and Wi-Fi. The TurboConnect moderates Modbus TCP/IP and OCPP1.6.

What is the housing material of the Ampure Go?

We use a siloxane copolymer resin (EXL9330) that offers extreme low temperature ductility in combination with excellent processability. The UV stabilized, medium flow resin features UL f1/V-0/5VA rating with non-chlorinated, non-brominated flame-retardant agent for wide range of colors. EXL9330 is excellent for a broad range of applications, such as personal safety helmets, electric circuit protection, EVSE housings and connectors.

What is the idle power of the Ampure Go?

The Ampure Go has an idle power of less than 2.5W, which makes it outstanding amongst competitor products.

What plug types are included, and do I need an adapter?

Ampure Go Gen 2 includes options for NEMA 14-50 and NEMA 5-15 plugs to accommodate both Level 1 and Level 2 charging. For Tesla owners, no additional adapter is needed for the NACS version.

Will Ampure chargers work with adapters?

Yes, our chargers come with a NACS (SAE J3400) or SAE J1772 charging coupler and adapters can be used on both.

Are Ampure chargers universal to all BEV and PHEV vehicles?

Yes, Ampure chargers are compatible with all Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) on the road today. Our chargers work with two main types of connectors:

  • NACS (SAE J3400): The connector used by many American-made vehicles (like Tesla).
  • SAE J1772: The connector used by most other electric vehicles, including those from manufacturers like GM, Ford, and Nissan.

With over 500,000 units in use, Ampure chargers support both types to ensure they can charge virtually any EV.

Are Ampure chargers UL certified?

Yes, both the Ampure Go and Ampure Go 2 chargers are UL and cUL certified. This certification ensures they comply with strict safety and quality standards in both the United States and Canada.

What type of outlet works with my Ampure Go?

Ampure Go is designed to work with NEMA 14-50 outlets for Level 2 charging and NEMA 5-15 outlets for Level 1 charging.

Can the charger be used with a standard wall outlet?

Yes, Ampure chargers are compatible with standard household outlets using the NEMA 5-15 plug for Level 1 charging.

How long is the charger’s cable?

The Ampure Go Gen 2 comes with a 20-foot cable, providing enough length for flexible charging.

What is the charging speed of your portable chargers?

Ampure Go Gen 2 supports Level 2 charging at up to 32 amps, allowing you to charge ~60 miles (24 kWh) of range in approximately 3 hours and 10 minutes when using a NEMA 14-50 outlet at 240V. For comparison, charging the same range with a standard Level 1 NEMA 5-15 outlet (120V, 12 amps) takes approximately 16 hours and 55 minutes.
